Day 9: April Showers Bring May....

Rainy day here but I won't let that stop me from wearing this adorable off the shoulder flower shirt! "Flowers" is today's theme and the vibe of this shirt is perfect to brighten up such a cloudy gloomy day!

Paired with cuffed white skinny jeans, brown wedges and a simple blush and gold necklace, this outfit would be perfect for lunch with friends or even a dinner date with the hubby!

Though this look is perfect for going out you could easily wear it with flats or sandals and a denim jacket to make it a little more casual!

You can find similar shirts HERE, at Francesca's or HERE at makemechic.com

30 day Fashion Challenge

I've noticed recently since being home from our vacation, that I've started to fall back into old habits fashion wise. The sweat pants and leggings have come out again and changing into pj's as soon as possible. With the weather getting warmer finally, I've decided that I need to challenge myself and get out of this new funk. I've seen challenges pop up on Instagram lately and decided to "shop" in my own closet and put together some looks that I might not go to. I took a couple of minutes and jotted down 30 different ideas from "Casual Prep", "Boho", "Printed Skirt" to "Vintage Day" just to name a few. A different theme everyday for the next 30 days. This should help me think outside the box, wear some clothes that haven't been used in awhile and help me from repeating outfits. Also I will try and put my forgotten accessories to use.

To start off my 30 Day Fashion Challenge I went with Casual Chambray. Fun, Classy and Relaxed. Also, yes I am standing in a hospital room. Everything is fine. Just waiting for hubby.

Old Navy currently has a classic Chambray shirt on sale for $17!

White jeans are from Express. Im sure you can find some for less but I absolutely think these are worth the money. The stretch and fit is fantastic!

Also at Old Navy they currently have many brown leather belts on sale! Was going to post one but when there are so many to choose from for all under $9, I just had to share the link for all of them! If you don't already have one or are in need of a new one, be sure to check HERE!

Heart Shaped Elbow Patches! OMG!

So I know it's been a while since I posted. So Sorry! We were hit with the stomach bug and then I just couldn't get time to write. Grayson will only nap if I'm holding him lately so that has taken away any "free" time that I've had.

Anyways, it is 62* and sunny here in New England today and it is absolutely gorgeous outside! I can not begin to tell you how excited I am that the weather is warm out. Makes me want Spring to just hurry up and get here!

Today's look was defiantly inspired by this gorgeous day. My favorite white jeans paired with my navy and white striped cold shoulder top with the most ridiculously cute heart shaped elbow patches. *I predict a DIY coming soon. I need more elbow patches in my life!* I finished the look with my trusty peal earrings, silver locket, my suede red flats and a bright red lip.

Also found one at Macy's though I think the Francesca's one is way more cute

White jeans

For years I envied those who were brave enough to sport the white jean. Seriously, what super woman with kids could go through the day WITH kids and successfully wear white jeans without them getting ruined? Even without young kids I put off getting them because I was positive I'd spill something on them. Love the look but just unrealistic to actually wear. Well, recently a friend was going through her closet and gave Asia, my 18 yr old, and I a pair that she no longer wore. Perfect opportunity to see if I could make it through the day without ruining them. Let me tell you I boldly put on those beautiful, yearned for, white jeans with a new found confidence that I would make it through the day without ruining them! Within 20 minutes my 2 yr old got her 1st ever bloody nose, wipped her finger on my magical jeans **insert crying face and bubble being burst here**. Then while I was tending to said bloody nose my 6 month old tried to climb up my leg successfully ripping apart **much like my dream** the strategically placed trendy tear, a good 5 inches down my shin.

Now this might not seem like a good selling point and I will admit I was momentarily crushed but I threw those sad jeans into the wash after stitching up the tear and they were all better. And really....the above could have happened no matter what wash of jeans I was wearing. The next week I tried again and I, low and behold, made it through the day. Pretty sure it's award worthy, just saying.

Being a SAHM (Stay At Home Mom), I'm not one to spend money too often on new clothes for myself. My husband being the amazing man he is knows this and gets my gift cards to my favorite clothing stores on holidays, our anniversary, and my birthday, so I will be able to spoil myself a bit. For a former shopaholic this is just the tits! Or the shiz, whatever you're comfortable with. Well, for Christmas, my brilliant husband gave me a gift card to Express **squeal!!!** and I bought a new pair of white jeans, without the trendy rip since Grayson apparently dislikes that look and will wreak havoc upon them.

I'm in love all over again. My magical white jeans and I decided that being paired with a baggy cozy off shoulder pullover sweater was the only way to go on this blustery winter day. I kept the accessories to a minimum with my new XOXO watch, also a Christmas present, and gold rings. I chose my suede black wedge ankle boots and finished the look by cuffing my jeans up. Side note: cuffing your jeans is kind of a must do with ankle boots ;)

So all in all, don't be scared of white jeans. You only live once. Buy some bleach, Oxy Clean, and maybe a Tides Stick for your purse or diaper bag. Have fun and remember to not hold  back with your style because you might get dirty. That's life! But maybe don't have your toddler finger paint or eat spaghetti on your "White Jeans Day." ;)
